Additionally, parking can be challenging in some areas, especially during peak times. Plan ahead and familiarize yourself with parking options near the places you plan to explore to minimize any inconvenience. There are plenty of rentals to choose from here on island. There is rentals right across the street from the airport such as Hertz, Budget etc. There are also local rentals, such as Discount Car Rental, that we’d be happy to give recommendations to our guest when booking with Eleven Villa Blu!

If you prefer to leave the driving to someone else, St. Thomas has a reliable taxi system. Safari: Your Island’s Bus‑Like System

For an adventurous and cost‑effective option, consider utilizing the Safari system, which serves as St. Thomas’s bus‑like transportation system. They are all independently‑operated and there is no giant official schedule or rate system. But they pretty much operate with consistent routes and rates. Although it operates on specific routes, providing access to popular destinations, please note that the schedule can sometimes be uncertain. It’s advisable to inquire about it at the time of your stay or consult your Airbnb host for assistance. Embrace the local experience and hop on a Safari, mingling with fellow travelers and residents alike.

St. Thomas is a pretty big island, and other than in the main town areas of Charlotte Amalie, Havensight, Red Hook, there is a lack of sidewalk space. We highly recommend only walking if there are sidewalk available. Depending on the location of where you are heading, you might find that some attractions, beaches, and dining options are within walking distance. Take advantage of the opportunity to explore your neighborhood by foot, discovering hidden gems and experiencing the local charm firsthand. Walking the waterfront from Crown Bay to Frenchtown, downtown Charlotte Amalie, Yacht Haven Grand, and Havensight. This area of waterfront is roughly 3 miles and is an excellent way to experience the bustle of St. Thomas. Not only does walking provide a leisurely way to get around, but it also allows you to immerse yourself in the island’s vibrant atmosphere and see the historical side of the island.
